From there we went for a ride on a "Jesus Boat." This was a boat modeled after the style of fishing boat that was used during Jesus' day. We had a special time of devotion led by Jeff Zalewski, in which we were reminded of when Jesus multiplied the 5 loaves and 2 fishes. We were richly blessed by the many lessons contained in this story. Then we had a very special treat in that our boat captain was a Messianic Jew, and a musician too. He blessed us with Christian Israeli praise music while cruising on the Sea of Galilee. We were all so inspired by the annointed teaching in God's word and the renewing of our spirits in praise and thanksgiving to our God.
In 1986, after a drought which lowered the water level in the Sea of Galilee, 2 fishermen discovered an ancient boat which scholars believe dated to the time of Jesus. We got to view this actual boat preserved in a museum for the public to enjoy. After this, we proceeded on to the city of Capernaum, where our Lord chose to spend a good part of His early ministry. He did more miracles here than in any other city. Capernaum was also the home of the apostles Peter, Andrew, James, John and Matthew. We saw the location of Peter's house, and sat in an ancient synagogue built upon the original one where Jesus frequently taught. Pastor Steve taught us from the gospel of Mark as we sat listening in the very place where Jesus taught so long ago...

After leaving Capernaum, we headed on to Nazareth, Jesus' hometown. We went to a place called, "Nazareth Village," which recreated what life was like in a typical Nazareth village 2,000 years ago. Here is their web site for more info & photos: http://www.nazarethvillage.com/index.php
Below are a couple pictures from our time there...
Another full day of experiencing Israel... with the Bible coming alive before our very eyes...
